Kia Ora
Kia ora, my name is Kelly, and I am the founder of Glowing Up.
I am deeply passionate about holistic self-care and believe that we cannot continue to pour into others from an empty vessel. True wellbeing begins with nurturing ourselves—mind, body, and wairua (spirit)—so that we have the capacity to show up authentically for those around us.
I am the proud mama of four beautiful tamariki, who inspire me every day and remind me of what truly matters. I am currently studying towards my Master of Social Work (Applied) at the University of Canterbury and hold a degree in Psychology. With over 20 years of experience working within the health and wellbeing sector, I feel incredibly honoured to walk alongside people on their unique journeys.
I am of Ngāti Porou, Te Ātiawa, and Ngāti Kahungunu descent, and my culture has shaped my understanding of connection, compassion, and holistic wellbeing. Some of the most valuable lessons I have learned throughout my life are that healing is not selfish, self-care is not a luxury, and we must first nourish our own needs before we can sustainably support others.
My hope through Glowing Up is to empower people to prioritise themselves without guilt, embrace holistic wellbeing, and recognise that caring for themselves is one of the greatest gifts they can offer both themselves and the people they love.
